Whether you're an individual consumer, or an Insurance Company in need of our expertise, our Specialists have extensive experience in assessing and repairing damage to any make, type, and origin of Handmade, or Machine Made, rugs.  All the repairs we perform at Hilliards are done by hand.  This is important in maintaining the value of your area rugs.

CERTIFIED APPRAISALS

In order to Appraise a Genuine Hand Knotted Oriental Rug, one must be able to properly Authenticate the; Country of Origin, Type, Style, and Classification.  Next comes the Evaluation; Knot Count, Knotting Style, Weaving Method, examination of the Foundation, Dyestuff, Circa (Age; 7 years prior or after date indicated), and Condition.  And finally the Valuation process completes the Appraisal.  If any of the information compiled during the Authentication, or Evaluation Stage are incorrect, the entire Appraisal is flawed!  

WATER DAMAGED AREA RUGS

When a rug gets wet, and remains wet for extended periods in an uncontrolled environment, mildew and mold begin to grow in the foundation!  Once this condition occurs, it begins to spread throughout the entire rug, causing major damage.  We are experts in handling Storm Damaged Rugs, and if your rug is beyond repair, we'll even work directly with your Insurance Company to insure your claims are properly handled. 

MOTH INFESTATION

Moth damage is as equally destructive as water damage. In most cases it is likely that once you see moths, moth eggs, and/or moth larvae on your rug the damage is done!  Don't worry we have trained specialists that can reweave and/or repair the damage.  And we will remove all moths from your area rugs.  Each case is different, but rest assured you're dealing with professional veterans of the Area Rug Industry for over 80 Years.
